Sylvie Thénault

Dr. Thénault is a research director at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), which is part of a joint effort with the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne to create the Center for the Social History of Contemporary Worlds (CHS).

Her research focuses on Algeria and the Algerian war of independence specifically on law and repression within that region. She is interested in ideas of internment during 1830-1962 in Algeria, nationalism and indigenous peoples in the region.
