Moran, Ry

Ry Moran is Associate University Librarian for Reconciliation at the University of Victoria and an internationally recognized leader in Indigenous archives, knowledge stewardship, and reconciliation. He previously served as the founding Director of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR), where he played a central role in preserving the records of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission and advancing public access to Indigenous histories. His work focuses on Indigenous data sovereignty, digital archives, community-engaged research, and the ethical stewardship of cultural memory. Ry Moran collaborates closely with Indigenous communities, academic institutions, and cultural organizations to strengthen reconciliation through education, research, and public engagement. Within the Mnemonic Democracy project, he contributes expertise on Indigenous memory, archival practices, digital heritage, and ethical approaches to collective remembrance.
