ECSA-Cn Project Report (2017-2020)

By EUCAnet Team

The European Community Studies Association Canada developed a range of activities aiming at enhancing the outreach and networking capacity for the European Studies community. The ECSA-Cn Jean Monnet project “Building capacity for Canada’s European Studies community: the European Community Studies Association Canada (ECSA-C) as a research and outreach hub” was co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union in the years 2017 to 2020.

The collaboration between ECSA-C and the Europe-Canada Network initiative (www.EUCAnet.org) was also supported by the Centre for Global Studies at UVI. The project focused on key EU-related subjects, taking advantage of the changing political environment after the completion of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Canada-European Union Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA). In this respect, it provided public visibility to the EU as a key economic and political partner of Canada. The ECSA-Cn project’s activities and services included the development of a ECSA-Cn Members Database (open service to ECSA-C members), promoted selected research groups (interviews; media alerts), showcased innovation in teaching and research (award; interviews), fostered engagement of young academics (junior EU scholar video interviews; policy memos) and disseminated research outcomes (video clips; Facebook, Twitter, and a new website).
