Taylor, Louisa

Louisa Taylor is co-founder and director of Refugee 613, an innovative information and mobilization hub created by a network of community partners in Ottawa, Canada to support the welcome and integration of refugees. Refugee 613 provides information and training to the public, volunteers and private sponsors of refugees, fosters collaboration between service providers and develops pathways for public engagement in refugee support. An award-winning newspaper journalist in her previous life, Louisa is also founder of @datafestOTT which uses collaborative learning to explore intersections between social challenges and digital technology, and serves on the Advisory Committee on Social Innovation, which brings designers and practitioners together to develop new policy ideas in settlement and integration for Canada’s federal government.
