
Teichman, Judith
Judith Teichman is Professor of Political Science and International Development at the University of Toronto and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. She is the author of books and articles on politics and policymaking in Latin America, with a focus on Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. Her work on policy has dealt with economic and social policy, and with issues of poverty and distribution. She has also carried out research on the role of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in market reform and social policy in Latin America. More recent work has involved Latin American (Chile and Mexico) and Asian (South Korea and Indonesia) comparisons, with attention to the politics of inclusive development. She has also done work on the topic of inequality and violence in Mexico. She is currently working on a comparative study of twenty and twenty-first century Latin American populism.
